Windows Media Player 12 is the latest version of Microsoft's official media player, which comes bundled with Windows 7. Step 1.
Uninstalling the Windows Media Player:
1. Go to Control panel --> Programs and Features (Turn windows features on or off)
2. Under Media, unselect Windows Media Player and hit ok
3. Restart the computer
Step 2.
Restore/installing the Windows Media Player:
1. Go to Control panel --> Programs and Features (Turn windows features on or off)
2. Under Media, select Windows Media Player and hit ok
3. Restart the Computer
That should bring it back.
